Rose Hydrosol: Not your average rose water
Limited-run Rose Hydrosol is here.
This is one of my favorite releases of the year because it’s distilled from garden roses grown at my home in Sausalito. I’ve been using this hydrosol daily in my skincare routine. I love it because it smells like a real rose: gentle with a baby-soft aromatic. It’s lightly fragrant, not overpowering.
Who it’s for
In the treatment room, I grab Rose Hydrosol to cool, calm, and deeply nourish skin and especially love it for wise, inflamed, sensitive, dry, or sun-kissed guests.
How to use
After cleansing the skin, liberally spritz Rose Hydrosol all over before applying moisturizer or serum. You can use it throughout the day to cool and balance skin, and its soft scent is a nervine that’ll help bring you to a state of calm.
The science behind rose
Rose contains a variety of antioxidants, including flavonoids, polyphenols, and vitamin C. As an astringent, rose tightens and tones tissues, and is the perfect ally to aid in the skin’s immune defenses. Rose soothes irritated skin and protects from environmental stressors.
Its incredible properties are also why we use roses throughout our product line. You’ll see Rose Hydrosol in our Well Serum and Rose Water Toner. Dried rose petals are infused in Balancing Oil Cleanser, Replenishing Facial Oil, and Wisdom Oil. Rosehip seed oil is also used for its antioxidant properties in Wisdom Oil. We use rose distillates, glycerin extracts, and rosehip powders too. No part of the rose goes to waste in our lab.
Nerd facts
Roses have a long history. Here are a few facts that still blow my mind:
Roses are ancient.
Fossils tell us they’ve been around for more than 35 million years.
Apples are roses, too.
When you bite into an apple, you’re eating the same plant family as rose (Rosaceae).
Rose is basically skin food.
It pulls in moisture, gently tones, and is naturally full of antioxidants and vitamins C and E. In other words, it helps your skin stay soft, calm, and cared for while protecting it from daily stress. It’s like the plant already knew exactly what your skin would need and packed it all inside its petals.
This is why I’m so in love with Rose Hydrosol. It’s not just beautiful, it’s intelligent, ancient, and timeless.
