To me, Botnia is a deeply personal journey toward authentic, holistic skincare, and it's a journey that has taken me far beyond what I could have ever imagined.

Twenty years ago, while working as an esthetician, I discovered the need for individualized skincare solutions, as unique as our fingerprints. This revelation ignited a passion for understanding skin's complexities and nature's nurturing secrets.

Out of this passion, Botnia was born. More than a skincare line, it's a science-backed collection of potent, raw ingredients, each uniquely blended to cater to specific skin types. This philosophy, born and tested in my treatment room, is the foundation of our entire product range.

Botnia has bloomed from humble beginnings in my kitchen to a thriving practice rooted in my garden, where many of the key ingredients for your skincare products are grown. Today, Botnia stands proud, transformed from a cozy basement operation to a full-fledged lab, partnering with over 200 spas nationwide. Reflecting on this journey, I feel a sense of awe at how this extraordinary dream has unfolded.

However, the reach of Botnia extends beyond skincare. It embodies my cherished values: sustainable farming practices, a nurturing work environment, and the promotion of self-love. Botnia is more than a brand - it's an ecosystem that nurtures the beauty and power of our skincare.

Sara came to Botnia from the publishing industry, where she edited a wide variety of lifestyle books, from cookbooks to gardening books to health and wellness titles. Now she’s our manufacturing specialist communications director. She loves being Botnia’s air traffic controller: balancing our schedules and deadlines and figuring out just what to do and when. Sara’s passion for healthy living, eagerness to learn every side of a growing business, and deep and abiding love of podcasts makes her the perfect partner for Botnia. .

Joining a new company during a pandemic has been a little unusual, but the transition from retail to manufacturing has been great with this amazing team around me. One thing we really focus on here is quality and we strive to deliver that to you every day. Hi there! I'm Botnia's Lab Manager and I make plant-based skincare for your beautiful faces! I discovered Botnia as a customer in my journey to find clean skincare to heal my acne, then I started seeing a Botnia esthetician to address my skin concerns and was so happy with the results I quickly became a Botnia SUPER FAN! Before working at Botnia, my introduction to herbalism came from making tinctures and infused oils for an herbalist in Sacramento, CA. When Botnia posted a job opening, I felt like the position was meant for me! I'm overjoyed to be a part of this team and to make skincare for you all. Outside of Botnia, you'll find me hanging out with my fur babies Chai and Baby.

Greetings! My name is Gianna and I couldn't be more thrilled to be here! My love for all things health and wellness has led me on a path of discovery in the healing arts that has spanned over 20 years. Most recently my continuing curiosity and admiration for the natural world has led me to pursue knowledge through the study of herbalism to cultivate a deeper relationship with the real medicine we have in the world surrounding us. In my opinion, skincare is no different than healthcare. Our skin being the largest organ in our body serves as a great indicator of our well-being just below the surface. It is so nice to be a part of a company that truly seeks to incorporate nature into our modern lifestyles. Hey friends! I’ve been a practicing holistic esthetician since 2018, when my journey with Botnia also began in my treatment room. I love connecting with our community of estheticians so much that I wanted to find a way to deepen those relationships and support future ones in a whole new way. I came to Justine to seek out an opportunity to do so, and here we are! What excites me most about this new role is that I not only get to be an ambassador for a company that I truly love, but I’m also an extra resource for partners who are new to Botnia. My goal is to help our estheticians feel comfortable and supported with Botnia’s professional line!

Hi, I’m Aviva! I tend to Botnia’s micro-farm, where we grow the plants for your skincare. I came to Botnia from a career in residential gardening and several prior jobs working on farms. After working in both agriculture and ornamental horticulture, I’m interested in diving deeper into the properties and uses of medicinal plants. I’m learning so much about how plants can heal our skin, and I know there is endless knowledge still to come.

Hello! I’m Amanda, a Botnia Master Esthetician. I’ve been an esthetician since 2014 and worked at Botnia’s previous spa, Skin Remedy. The last couple years I have been working part time in Botnia’s lab, making your skincare. The other half of my time I’m giving Botnia facials at my spa in Half Moon Bay. I love seeing the full life cycle of a Botnia product. From making in the lab with raw ingredients to the custom facial treatments I get to give with it. Icing on the cake: getting to see skin results on my clients! Gaining a deeper understanding of our products and their ingredients has been an amazing experience. Creating, learning, and taking care of others is my job and I love every second of it! A fun fact about me: on my off days I love a good estate sale and a hike!

Hello there! My name is Devin and I have the honor of working in the lab at Botnia. Getting to spend my days making skincare for this magical line is incredibly inspiring and fulfilling. My enchantment with plants began at an early age and led me to pursue a career as a clinical herbalist and medicine maker. When I’m not at Botnia you can find me gardening and exploring wild spaces.
